Land Patent No. S-8650 Issued In Confirmation of Land Commission Award

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles, did, by its decision, award by Land Commission Award No. 11,216, Apana 29 to M. Kekauonohi, an estate in Fee Simple in the land hereafter described, and

Whereas, application has been made to the Board of Land and Natural Resources by Chalon International of Hawaii, Inc., a Hawaii corporation, whose mailing address is c/o Case & Lynch, Attorneys at Law, 46C Kalauea Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720-3084 claiming to be the present owner of said land for a Patent covering same, and

Whereas, the award was made by name only, as fully described in Boundary Certificate No. 144, dated September 20, 1882 by Mr. F.L. Lyman, the then Commissioner of Boundaries; and

Whereas, there is no government commutation due thereon.

Now, Therefore, the State of Hawaii, in conformity with the laws of the State of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that it has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Kekauonohi, all the land situate at Kukuipahu, in the District of North Kohala, Island of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:

In the matter of the Boundaries of the Land of Kukuipahu, District of North Kohala, Island of Hawaii

Judgment
An application to decide and certify the Boundaries of the Land of Kukuipahu, District of North Kohala, Island of Hawaii having been filed with me on the 8th day of July 1882 by J.M. Lydgate, acting for Dr. James Wight, the owner of said land in accordance with the provisions of an Act to facilitate the settlement of Boundaries, &c., approved on the 22 day of June, A.D. 1868; now therefore, having duly received and heard all the testimony offered in reference to the said boundaries, and having gone on the said land, at the request of and having endeavored otherwise to obtain all information possible to enable me to arrive at a just decision, which will more fully appear by reference to the records of this matter by me kept in Book 5 D, pages 1 & 2 and it appearing to my satisfaction that the true, lawful and equitable boundaries, are as follows, viz.;

Commence at pinnacle of black rock marked [triangle with dot in it] on point known as Nalupai from which Puu ula Government Survey Station Z = 281.30.

This rock formerly marked + which is still discernable; thence
South 73.30 East (magnetic) 858 feet along Grant 1549 Kaluhilaau
South 86.15 East (magnetic) 2455 feet along Grant 1549 Kaluhilaau
South 80.30 East (magnetic) 924 fee
