Land Patent No. 8335 Issued In Confirmation of Land Commission Award

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles did by Land Commission Award No. 7715, Apana 16 award to L. Kamehameha an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described;

And, whereas, application for a Patent, covering the Ahupuaa of Paukaa, South Hilo, Hawaii, has been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by C. Brewer and Company, Limited, on behalf of the Onomea Sugar Company, present owner of same, and

Whereas, Certificate of Boundaries No. 181, defining same, has been issued and is of record in Volume 4 of Boundaries (Hawaii), on Pages 128-131, on file in the Office of the Commissioner of Public Lands, and

Whereas, the Government Commutation in said Ahupuaa of Paukaa has been settled by Resolution of the Privy Council on the 29th day of August, A.D. 1850, as recorded in Volume 3, Page 423, of the Privy Council Records on file in the Office of the Commissioner of Public Lands.

Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto L. Kamehameha, all of the land situate at Paukaa, in the District of South Hilo, Island of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:

28. North 86° 46' East 1087 feet the boundary following middle of Kaleiike ravine to confluence of the two forks;
29. South 46° 54' East 803 feet the boundary following the middle of Kaleiiki ravine to falls at sea bluff, thence down the same to sea coast at high water mark and along same to a point below the falls at mouth of the Kumunuiaiake ravine, thence up the sea bluff to top of falls, the direct bearing and distance being
30. South 16° 50' West 506 feet thence down the sea bluff to sea coast at high water mark, and along same to a point below the falls at mouth of the Kaluaholoholo ravine; thence up the sea bluff to edge of falls the direct bearing and distance being
