Land Patent No. 8163 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles did by Land Commission Award No. 2715 award to Hinau, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,

And whereas proper application having been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by F.S. Dodge for an on behalf of the Trustees under the Will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop for a Patent of the herein described land, and whereas a certificate of boundaries defining the same having been duly filed, and the Government Commutation thereon amounting to Forty-four 75/100 ($44 75/100) Dollars having been duly paid,

Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto Hinau, all of the land situate at Keawanui, in the District of [left blank Kona], Island of Molokai, bounded and described as follows:

.... true 61 feet to a cross on a stone at the sea shore from which rock the government Survey Station Kalaeloa bears South 24° 10" West true 1075 feet; Thence
11. South 24° 10" West true 1075 feet along sea shore to the Government Survey Station Kalaeloa;
12. North 30° 57" West true 975 feet to a cross on a stone at the end of fish pond Wall;
13. Thence along fish pond Wall to end of wall at shore joining the fish pond of Papailiilii, the direct bearing and distance being North 29° 10" West true 1980 feet; Thence
