Upon Confirmation by the Land Commission

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto Hazaleleponi Kalama, Land Commission Award 4452, Apana 5, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas proper application has been made by Honorable W.C. Parke Commissioner and Administrator of the Estate of C. Kanaina to the Minister of the Interior for a Royal Patent on the Ahupuaa of Waipio, herein described, a certificate defining the boundaries having been duly filed and the Government Commutation therein relinquished by an order of the Privy Council

Therefore, Lunalilo Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that he has, for himself and for his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto Hazaleleponi Kalama all that certain piece of land situate at known as the Ahupuaa of Waipio Hamakua in the Island of Hawaii, and described as follows:

Beginning at the East corner of a stone enclosure known as Waiokalehua's, 290 feet East of Wailoa river land and about 830 feet from the sea, the same being the East angle of Land Commission Award 7860 (Kawahineainiu Lot 1) on the boundary of Lalakea, from whence "Waipio trig. station" bears 108 ....

Thence along the brow of the pali around the entire head of Waipio valley and its several branches called Waima; Koiawe; Alakahi and Kawainui; along the ahupuaas of Waimea and Waimanu (Awini, Honopue and Laupahoehoe probably also abutting on this pali) to a point at Kealoi or the lowest part of the saddle of the ridge between Waipio and Waimanu valleys at the head of the latter;
