Halemano, sworn, I am a native of this land and have clearly known it. It is the land over which there is a dispute, a pond in the ili of Kumuhahane in Waiau, Ewa, Oahu. The boundaries are exactly as those indicated in the map surveyed by A. Bishop. The konohiki's pond is known as such because since the time of the constitution of this kingdom and the beginning of poalima work in this pond to the time of [it] was given to Keaweamahi there has always been food from that deposit as a result of t ....

.... permanently to Keaweamahi. Kaoo cultivated and cut away the bulrushes, later he left his land and returned to his own place while Keaweamahi remained on the land.
Kane, sworn, I did not see Puhi give that land away but I have seen the time Halemano lived there, also his departure from the place and while there he was forced to pay the sum of ten dollars. Halemano did return the place to Puhi in a good condition.
The land commissioners have agreed to have this pond returned to the konohiki, and Puhi, Keaweamahi and Bishop will settle for some other place for him.
