I have a claim in an 'ili in the Ahupua'a of Pelekunu on the Island of Molokai. Its name is Kaonini I. A pali is Mauka by the 'ili makai is Ahalau, for Kaiwipilia, on the east side is Nimike, for Paunani, an 'ili, on the west is the 'ili of Nininui, for Kauhainalu.

Its length is 62 fathoms and its width is 40 fathoms and 2 feet. It is taro land, and a portion of kula. I have occupied this claim from the time of Kamehameha III. It was given me by Nakapuai, the present konohiki. I request you, if this claim is found valid, to award it to me.
