The Land Commissioners, greetings: I hereby state my claims on Kauai. I am the Konohiki at Pilaa, under Kaluahinenui. All the rights pertaining to the Konohiki, are my rights /and those of/ Kaluahinenui.

Kaopua became Konohiki of Pilaa in 1840, he received this land at that time and has had no objections since that time to the present.
