Greetings to you, the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, of the Independent King. I hereby tell you of my kuleana at Honolulu in the upland of Nuuanu at Kawananakoa. The basis of my claim is in the paper and the explanation and the boundaries of this parcel of land are on another paper, and all the diagrams. My witness is Hoale, whom you can call, and I will bring some /other/ witnesses. The Konohiki has seen the paper.

Thus: My right to live there is by Kaauwai. Produce of that and this kind produced by me and things constructed by me are for Kaauwai and I shall be subjected to Kaauwai's konohiki and Kaauwai will be responsible for the konohiki.

The payment for the entire place with all of the plants is $10.00, $1.50 is for the house, the total is $11.50 and that has been agreed by us.

We together with all of our personal witnesses hereby write our names on this 15th day of May in the year 1846 in Honolulu, Oahu, certifying to the truthfulness of our statements*
