Hear ye, ye Land Commissioners of the Mo'i: I, Hihio, hereby petition you, the commissioners under the Mo'i, for my house lot claim. It is at the bridge, on the east of the Fort, at Puako, therefore /I have written/ this letter.

Kahaokauo, sworn, This Place I know. It is on the brink of Canal - Bounded by Canal - Street runs along street to Pikanini's lot. Geo. Shaw is in rear of it. Claimant has lived there long; his sister long before he lived with her. I know she possessed the lot from 1826 to her death. Claimant kept posses ....
