N.R. 684v8
No. 4598, Halaki /Charlotte/, Hilo, January 17, 1848

The Honorable Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby explain our claim to you, in three parcels of land, as shown in the diagram of the survey by the haoles, and entered with this letter.

Number One is a parcel of land in Lahaina, Maui. Our right to this place was an old one from the time of Kamehameha II and our house stands there until this time. Furthermore, my son, Kaihukai, had previously petitioned for this place for himself. His petition was not properly done - we thought it was good, but not so!

Number Two. It is in Hilo, as shown in the writing by the haoles. It is a parcel remaining from the place which was transferred to my /son/ in law, B. Pikimana /Pitman/. We received this in the time that Kaahumanu was alive.
