To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for land in the `ili of Kaiaia, Ahupua`a of Kaaawa, Island of Oahu. I have three lo`i in one place, also three lo`i in another place. Also, there is a kula, a wooded upland, a kai /fishery/. And a house, together in my mo`o.

Niho, sworn says, he knows the land claimed by Kapu in Kaaawa. It consists of 10 kalo patches, forming one piece, bounded on:

Kaneohe side by Niho's land
Mauka by Noi's land
Punaluu side by Kenuikapaole's
Makai by Kaihumua's land.

Claimant has a piece of kula land also, planted with potatoes. It may contain about half an acre. His house site is distinct from his land, not enclosed. Claimant h ....

Ki and Nakai, sworn, we have known in the same was as Kaehu about the place over which there is a dispute, we have been natives of the place since Kamehameha I, to the present day.

J. Kaeo, the konohiki says, "Kapu's demands for this patch is [are] not worthwhile, because it is not his patch, it is not in his moo land, but it is in Kenuikapaole's moo land. I believe that patch is for Kenuikapaole and in the same way as the statement made by Kaehu. This patch for which Kapu is demanding has not been included in the land survey made by Killon. Kapu's land is that which has been certified by the land officers, therefore it has been impossible to demand for this patch in Kenuikapaole's place."
