L.M. Keonepaa, sworn, I wrote Paukaa's claim on 14 February 1848 and delivered it in the hands of Z. Kaauwai at Halekauila. John Ii was present and had seen my delivery in the hand of Z. Kaauwai. John Ii asked Kaauwai what was in his hand, he answered, it was Paukaa's claim, in Waikiki. Then Kaehu wanted to known what I had given Kaauwai and I said that it was a claim. Mr. W.L. Lee, John Ii, Z. Kaauwai, Kaehu and George Richardson were the people I had seen ....

Sections 1 and 2 from Peleuli immediate}y after the uprising of Kaomi and before the death of Nahienaena in 1836. Section 3 from Peleuli at the time S. Kuluwailehua had first become tax assessor for Kona in 1838 and he has lived peacefully to the present time.

Akaole, sworn, I have seen Paukaa's claim exactly as Keawe has related here and
he is living there at the present time.
