No. 3917, D. Nahau, Waioli, Kauai, January 11, 1848
N.R. 94v9

The Land Commissioners, respectful greetings: I, Nahau, a Hawaiian subject living at Waioli, hereby state my land claim for four lo`i at Waipa. Kauai is my land. I paid the annual tribute, and the right is mine at this time.

Daniela gave me a kula at Waioli as a place for my house to stand, and it is now a house lot. I have a claim there for four lo`i. That is my message to you, the commissioners appointed by the Mo`i.
I am, respectfully, your humble servant,
D. NAHAU
District Judge
