To you, the Land Commissioners, Greetings and Thanks: I, Kauhi, am a subject under the Fort of Puaina. I hereby state my claim for a house lot which is mauka, on the land of Kapunahou, on the makai side of the land fence of Kapunahou. This is the place where the house lot, of which I tell you, is situated.

.... me and lived outside of the fence. They have lived there since that time to the present; no one has objected. They began to live there in 1831 probably. Their lots are completely enclosed and the boundaries have been established.
There are many other people who are living outside of Kapunahou land who have been living there a long time and are still living now peacefully.
