The Land Commissioners, Greetings: since I have seen the new law on page 9, line 14, saying that the people are requested to state their claims to the commissioners:

I hereby state to you my claims, from the governor, Matthew Kekuanaoa, on the Island of Oahu: Kikiwelawela, an 'Ili in Heeia at Koolau, Kalaepohaku, an 'Ili in Kapalama, Ukoa, an 'Ili in Waialua, the 'Ili of Lauhulu, Waialua, the 'Ili of Mokuleia, Waialua.

At Kahaluu on Hawaii are two 'Ili. I received these lands from M. K ....

.... place. There are only three men under me: Nalauai, Kawelo, Kahae. These people did not petition. Who were those who petitioned and for what place did they petition? I do not know of any other people - the King is the only one I know of. You knew of the nature of the petitioners' mistake and lack of right. The King left the care of this place with me, to this time; it is for the King to terminate my right to this place.
