Kumuhonua, sworn says, I know the puuone in dispute between Paele and Kawana. "Kakalaku" is the name of it. I am a son of Kaneohe and know Paele's title. He has had it from the days of Liholiho and held it in peace. The konohiki has never asserted any right in it, or claimed any of the fish, until Kawana did so this present year.
Kaniau, sworn says, I am a kamaaina of Kaneohe and know the puuone in dispute between Paele and Kawana. It has belonged to Paele, and Paele alone from the days of Liholiho and the konohiki has never had or asserted any right therein until Kawana, who took it away from Paele only a few months since.
