To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I, the one whose name is below, hereby state my claims to you, the Commissioners of the lnde-pendent Mo`i of our beloved Hawaiian Kingdom. There are three taro lo`i and one weed-grown /fallow/ lo`i and also a house lot, in the `Ili of Kuwili, in the Ahupua`a of Honolulu, Island of Oahu. There are three lo`i in the `ili of Hauhaukoi in the Ahupua`a of Honolulu, Island of Oahu. These have been held for nine years, from the time when Kinau was living, unt ....

Umi, sworn, It had been a poalima from the time of Kamehameha I until Maluihi had possession of it, just as Hololua has stated above. It has always been for the tenants, never was a poalima. It was agreed that this patch before [was for] Lai.
