Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby tell of my land claim for my four lo`i, one section of irri-gation ditch, and also a small kula at Kapahulu. Kahukaipo gave me this place in the year 1841 and I have lived here peacefully. I also have a house claim at Kapahulu in Waikiki which Kahukaipo gave me ....

Kaniho had given Ekela this land in the year 1841 and it has been his place to the present time; no one has objected. Kekauluohi had given Kaniho his land.
