To the Land Commissioners: I hereby tell you of my claim for land in the `ili of Kamookahi in the Ahupua`a of Moanalua, on the Island of Oahu. The place which I made with my own hands, not at someone else's place, is bounded on the north by the mo`o of Kahalepalaoa, on the east by the flowing irrigation ditch and the lo`i of Pukiki, on the south by the mo`o of Kaualua, on the west by the flowing stream. This is my claim for that which I made with my own hands, seven and a half lo`i, and two kulas.

.... land, Ewa.

Section three has three patches and a pasture, but there is no fence. Kaia's land is mauka: Kanewahine's land, here; Moanalua stream, makai; Opa's land, Ewa. There is no fence for this place. I had given him this land at the time of Kamehameha I's death in 1820 and he (Pakele) has lived there in peace to this day."
