No. 800, Naone, Honolulu, Oahu, October 2* 1847
N.R. 439-440v2

To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my land claim in Honolulu, one independent mob. It is bounded on the north by the land of Kamahele, on the east by the land of Mahina, on the south by the stream, on the west by the land of Namokaeha /and/ 1 patch elsewhere. It is bounded on the north by the land of Keo Bu, on the east by the land of Kaia, on the south by the land of Moku, on the west by the land of Keo Bu.*

I got this place when Kaahumanu I was living. This konohiki, Kamake'e, is the seventh, at this place.

I was not hindered formerly, and at this time. I. Piikoi is objecting to the single patch elsewhere, and we were tried before the Tax official Hooliliamanu, and also M. Kekuanaoa, and it was awarded to me.

The reason that I. Piikoi thinks to take it is that this was formerly a ko`ele, therefore he thought of taking this patch, without thinking of my long time of working on this patch.
With aloha to you all,
NAONE

.... was made possible by Kaahumanu. She had given this interest to Kahuna and from him to Naone. He had died with Poki ma, but he had lived a peaceful life. There is no fence nor house. The boundaries of a patch land are:

Namokueha's lot is toward the mountain, also on the ocean and Waikiki sides
George Booth's lot, Ewa.
This is one patch and it was received this way and the same applies to the peacefulness of living since then to the very present time.

Kaia's land is toward the mountain
a koele land named Kapuni, Waikiki
Booth's place, oceanside
Naio's place, also Booth's place, Ewa.

This patch was received the same time the former lands were obtained, but Piikoi had objected to this patch and it was taken to court before Hooliliamanu and the board of governors and the patch was awarded to Naone.

Lawaia, sworn and stated, "My testimony for all of the lands and the two houses of Naone is the same as everything that Mahina has just related to you here."
