To the Land Commissioners, greetings to you all: I, Nihoa, a subject of Hawaii living at Waioli on the island of Kauai, hereby explain by lo`i and kula and house lot. The name of my lo`i is Luha, and it is 49 fathoms long by 39 fathoms wide. my kula is 15 fathoms long by 7½ fathoms wide; however, it is below the hill of Kamookoleaka. my house lot is 38½ fathoms in length, that is the north side, along the beach of Mahamoku, the width is ....

Nihoa's wife then received this land, by bequest after the death of her father in 1845, in 1848, the Konohiki took this land and gave it to Kuana, no. 9278 which is section 2. See page 25 of this book.

The others lois of Nihoa were from D. Oleloa in 1842.

Kaiwahine, sworn, he has seen the land called Luha and the other lois exactly in the same way as Pepee has related here.
