Those are my lands - some Ahupua'as and the 'ilis in them and the half of the district of Hamakua-Poko. The `ilis and the leles of these ahupua'as and the leles and 'ilis which are in the lands of others , and their lihis and places. The Lihi Leles and the claims for lihi and mahina and ko'ele, and the lihis from upland to sea, and the fishing grounds, perhaps, and all the rights which pertain to these lands, are what I hereby ask for, to quiet title and award to me, excepting the Government's ko`eles which are not attached; if however the Government's po`alua is not also changed, and the ko'eles which enrich it, without being for the benefit of the populace, and if some words opposing these claims are not reinvestigated, then, consider me, without my having to ask, in the way that I am now quieting title. All the land has been surveyed on its boundaries for the exact separation of the division, and the payment of the commutation has been made. This is also for the Government and the Government will pay for its survey if it passes to its share, if not, however, it is not possible to divide up the Government's Third. The witnesses of these claims are the populace who well know of my occupancy, and also the King's Mahele Book, which is well known. These lands are for myself and for ourselves and my heirs and representatives and we shall be able to work on these claims when our time shall come to substantiate them.
I am, respectfully, your obedient servant,
WM. P. LELEIOHOKU

N.T. 441v10
No. 9971, William Pitt Leleihoku, 5 December 1854, Protested by C. Kanaina (for W.C. Lunalilo)

C. Kanaina, relates, I have come to protest the claims of William Pitt Leleihoku in Lanihau and Keopu of Kona, Hawaii, also the claim in Waipio of Hamakua, Hawaii; however, I have no witnesses now. They are elsewhere, but should they arrive in time we shall work on this claim otherwise, we shall not do any work.

N.T. 445v10
No. 9971, William Pitt Leleihoku, 23 December 1854, Protested by No. 8559B, William C. Lunalilo (page 450)

Lot 42 - Laioha is living on this house lot.

Kanehoa, sworn, I have seen this house lot of Alanaio in Lanihau, Kona, Hawaii. I have known the boundaries in the same way as Naea. That had been my own place at the time Liholiho was with the government. Kamehaiku had given me my land and I have lived there peacefully on this place under W.C. Lunalilo, the owner of the land Lanihau. The yield of the land and all things upon it shall directly be fore W.C. Lunalilo forever.

Postponed for the other lots, "Tailor Shop: and "Kaaihapuu."

N.T. 445-446v10
No. 9971, William Pitt Leleihoku, 23 December 1954, Protested by No. 4452, H. Kalama (from page 358)

Lot 63 - Lot in Waipio.

Kanehoa, sworn I have seen this lot in Waipio, Hamakua, Hawaii. J.A. Kuakini has no claim in this place; he has never lived on this place. He has never lived on this place whatsoever and he has not worked in the least on this property. It was some other people who have worked on this land a long time ago and "Pakaalana" was the name of the place where on the old royalties have lived.

Io, sworn, we have known in the same way - J.A. Kuakini has no claim on this place. He has not done any work whatsoever and he has never lived on this place to the present day.

N.T. 450v10
No. 9971, William P. Leleihoku, 28 December 1854, Protested by No. 8559B, W.C. Lunalilo

Palea, sworn, I have seen that place at Lalamilo of Puako, Hawaii for I am a native of Puako. After the death of Keaumoku, I had never seen J.A. Kuakini living or working or building a house on this place until his death; therefore I feel he had no qualified claim and as a result W.P. Leleihoku is without a claim. The true claimant is W.C. Lunalilo and he is the owner of the land. My wife Papai and I have worked ourselves on the lot lying there and the custody of that land is under W.C. Lunalilo at this time.

Kuuku, sworn, the above statements are all true. I have known in the same way.
