To the Land Commissioners, greetings: I hereby state my claim for land at Lawai on the island of Kauai. There is one lo`i with flourishing taro, and three small lo`i with no taro. The name of the large lo`i is Haia, and the name of the little dry lo`is is Kaialoa. Another lo`i is makai, named Kaukoheo, it is a dry lo`i. There is also an edge of kula which adjoins the land. The land was from Kanehoa (James Young), and I have lived there perhaps four years. The witnesses are Nakaielua and Pueaina.

Luka, sworn, I have known the land of Ehu in the ahupuaa of Lawai in the ili of Haia. 12 lois and a kula as well.

Makai by cliff of Makakii
Hanapepe by stream.

Kanehoa gave this land to him when Emaria was governor. No one has ever objected to him.

Pahuiki, sworn, I have heard the testimony of Luka concerning the land of Ehu and it is true.
