Kalakaua, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, By this, His Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself, his heirs and successors, this day granted and given unto H.J. Agnew, for the consideration of Four hundred and eighty five $485.00 dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that piece of Land situate at Kulaokahua Plains, known as Lots 342, 353 on Go ....

.... and shall lay on water from the Government pipes to the said land within the said period. Provided the mains are within a convenient and reasonable distance.
In default of either of the said conditions the said H.J. Agnew shall pay to the Minister of the Interior the sum of Nine hundred and seventy $970 dollars as and by way of liquidated damages.
