Kamehameha III, By the grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this his Royal Patent, makes known unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Edward Johnson, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Fifty nine Dollars & Fifty cents and Twenty seven Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land, situated at Papaa, Koolau in the Island of Kauai, and described as follows:
Commencing at a heap of stones on the South eastern corner of land belonging to the said Johnson, running from thence
South 45° 1/2 West 29 1/2 Chains, thence
South 25° West 28 1/2 Chains to the Wailapa stream, thence
North 73° West 3 1/2 Chains along said stream, thence
North 40° West 2 1/2 Chains along said stream, thence
North 77° East 4 1/2 Chains, thence
North 20° East 11 Chains 68 links, thence
North 5° East 26 Chains to a stake on the South western corner of the boundary land belonging to said John ....
