Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Edward Bailey, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Eighty four Dollars ($84.00), paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Pohakuokauhi, Wailuku in the Island of Maui and described as follows:
Commencing at mauka North East corner of these premises by lane joining D. T. Conde's house lot, and running
South 6° 45' West 2 42/100 Chains along mauka end of lane & Z. Kaauwai's lot to angle of wall, thence
South 1° 45' West 1 55/100 Chains to angle of wall, thence
South 6° 45' West 19 7/10 Chains to South West corner of Kaauwai's lot, thence
North 85° 30' East 9 Chains along Kaauwai's to road, thence
South 15° 45' East 5 34/100 Chains to angle of road, thence
South 12° 15' East 6 6/10 Chains along road to angle, thence
