On this, the 6th day of June, A.D. 1874, the Commission of Boundaries for the Island of Hawaii 3d Judicial Circuit, met at the house of Moses Bassett, South Kona, Hawaii, for the examination of witnesses, as to the boundaries of Lehuula nui that lies between the makai wall of the Great walled lot to portion of land in the woods at Koaneenee. Said land having been sold and patented to W. Johnson; and now claimed by applicant.

Notice of hearing served by publication in the Hawaiian Gazette of May 20th 1874 and due notice personally served on all owners or Agents of adjoining lands, as far as known.

Present: J.G. Hoapili for applicant and Hawaiian Government.

Hapuku, kane, sworn, Commencing where the kuaiwi between Lehuula nui and Lehuula iki strikes the great walled lot; thence into the walled lot and along the kuaiwi to the mauka wall, which is as far as you can distinguish the kuaiwi; thence mauka of the wall and up the kuaiwi to Koaneenae [sic], in the woods. The boundary runs along Lehuula iki and Honuaino 1st to Koaneenee.

Commencing at the point where the boundary between Lehuulanui and Kawanui iki strikes the Great walled lot; thence mauka along the kuaiwi to above Puulehuula; where the boundary strikes the aa, and where Kawanui nui joins Lehuula iki and cuts Kawanui iki off.

Keakaikawai, kane, sworn, Commencing where the kuaiwi between Lehuula nui and Lehuula iki strikes the Great walled lot; thence into the lot and across to the mauka wall; thence to the north side of awaawa to some kukui trees at the mauka end of Lehuula iki; thence along Honuaino 1st to Koaneenee, mauka side of land sold.

Commencing at the kuaiwi between Lehuula nui and Kawanui iki at the makai wall of the Great walled lot thence mauka to the Kohala side of Puulehuula to the aa, where Kavanui iki ends.

Decision
The boundaries for this potion of Lehuulanui are decided to be as given in evidence of witnesses. Boundaries mauka as given by Keakaikawai, Folio 314, B.[?]

Office Commissioner of Boundaries, Hilo, August 7, 1875.

D.H. Hitchcock, sworn, The notes of survey I have filed are the ones I made with Keakaikawai as my kamaaina. I surveyed to the points that he pointed out as being the boundary between this tract and the adjoining lands. I notified Mr. Paris that I was going to survey the land, and he replied, that if I made it according to Keakaikawai's evidence that he would be satisfied.S.K. Kaai, J.G. Hoapili and C. Wall knew I was surveying this tract, but did not come, send any one, or make any objections to my surveying the land as Keakaikawai pointed it out. The makai line is run in accordance with the Royal Patents of makai lands.

S.K. Kaai has never given any notice of having any witnesses to be examined.

Decision
The boundaries of the above mentioned tract of Government land, are decided to be as set forth in notes of survey filed.
For Certificate of Boundaries see Folio 163, Liber I. His Royal Highness W.P. Leleiohoku, S.K. Kaai & J.G. Hoapili written to, this day informing them of decision of boundaries of this tract of land.
