An explanation of the land claims. We went to Maui in the month of May 29, 1823. From thence was our houselot at Kaluaokiha. That is the first houselot.
After this we got a houselot at Pakala from Kauloa - that is the second houselot.
On the death of Hoapilikane in 1840, we got the houselot of Pahoa from Maele, that is the third of the houselots.
After this, we got the land of Kelawea from M. Kekuanaoa, this is the fourth.
