Respectful Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I hereby state my claim for a house lot, which is makai of Apua in Kaoaopa. On the Waialua side is the lot of Kaumealani, on the makai side of the lot of Namauu, and Keaweluaole, on the Waikiki side is the lot of Mamala mauka of the sea which is between these lots. The sides are 22 fath-oms, by 17 fathoms 6 inches, by 15 fathoms 6 inches, by 16 fathoms, 1 ilei /yard/, which is the mauka side at the lot of Namauu. This lot was bequeathed to me by my kupunawahine, Keawepoole. This was her lot, and the land of Kalie in Paalaa in Waialua, this is another petition to you, for your information, of Kalie.
When Keawepoole died, she bequeathed the lot to me. The land was to the kaikamahine, to my makuahine, Kahakualoa, and I went back to live with Kinau and she returned the land to me. She died in 1835 in the month of April, and in the year 1839 the land was taken by the Honorable Governor, and Polikua has it at this time.
These two things, the lot and the land were taken, I do not have them. Keahonui ma have the lot. I ....

G.P. Kalama, sworn says, he knew G. Kaeo, from 1840 to the time [of] his death. When I knew him first he lived on Merchant Street, about 1842, when Kekauonohi went to Kauai as Governess. G. Kaeo went with her in her suite. He went about with Kekauonohi until 1843, when she left Kauai & returned to live at Honolulu & Kaeo lived in her house.

Kahiamoe, sworn, I have seen his house lot at Kaoaopa in Honolulu here. I have not known the boundaries. This lot had been bequested by Keawepooole to Kahakualoa, his daughter, and Kaeo lived under his mother. He had lived there until his death and this lot remained as his mother's lot because Keawepooole had directly bequested it to Kahakualoa. No one has ever objected to her to the present time. Kaauweaina is the servant there where he had resided in the house of Keawepooole since the time of Kinau to the present time. I have not known that he has filed a claim for this place. I think he has no interest, except for a house rights only.
