William Richards, Esq. Dear Sir:
About the last of October, I think it was, that I handed you the lease I hold of a piece of land in the valley of Nuuanu. My object in so doing was to have the Board for quieting land titles, examine said lease, and record it on the records of government according to law. You will very much oblige me by attending to the subject as soon as practicable.

M. Kekuanaoa. sworn by the Word of God and stated, I have seen the king and Kekauluohi pen their signatures to this lease. I have seen also Kinimaka and Kamika [Smith?] write their names and I have written my name on it as a witness. That property is for Victoria and is in my custody altho' Kinimaka has the lease. The *alodio is mine and the yearly lease for that property is five dollars.
Honokaupu is sworn by the Word of God and stated, I have known all things which have been written in that lease and I have seen Kamehameha III and Kekauluohi write their names (on it).
