Hear ye, ye Land Commissioners: I have a claim in an 'ili in the Ahupua`a of Pelekunu on the Island of Molokai. Its name is Kaueiki and it is 31 fathoms on the north, 105 fathoms on the south, 177&½ fathoms on the east and 150 fathoms on the west.

This is taro land, and a portion of kula. It has been held from the time of Kamehameha I. The former konohiki, Kulaahila, gave it to my makuas, who have died, and I have inherited the land. Kapuai is the present konohiki. I request that if my claim is found valid it be awarded to me.

Kahalekii, sworn, All the foregoing testimony is the truth. My knowledge of it is exactly the same as Puhene's.

It was decided to survey the water course separately. It would not enter into the cultivated land of Kaopua.
