To the Honorable Board of Commissioners for quieting land claims, Messieurs:
According to law I herewith transmit for your consideration and adjustment, three several claims to land on the Island of Maui.
1 First. A land by the name of Pohakuokauhi in Wailuku given to me by Kuliiwa in 1838. He was the sole owner of the land, and at the time Headman of Wailuku. I now occ ....

Seven ili lands at Pohakuokauhi and 1 ili have been possessed by Lawena. I had given them to him in the year 1838 probably (or) in the year 1839 perhaps. There is no section by the stream, for Keahi who was here has given up this place. No one has objected to him (Lawrence) for this place above here. There were people on that land at that time.
