To Board of Land Commissioners, &c. Gentlemen:
I lay claim to a land in the district of Hamakua, named Kamouwale.

.... Palai had a choice. The first land that Kuakini had given was Papa, but Palai had refused this. The interest for which Palai is claiming is exactly as specified in the deed; however, Maika [Makai?] does not know its boundaries. It had been given between 1837-1840. Maika [Makai?] has not known of any objections to the present day.
