The claimant appeared & took oath that his land claim had been duly prepared by Kaauwai & presented and therefore the same was admitted to a hearing.

Nua, being sworn, testifies that the land of claimant is a moo kalo named Paauki, in the ili of Kaonohi, Kalauao, Ewa, Oahu. It consists of 11 lois & a kula in one piece (there are eleven koele of konohiki in middle) & is bounded:

Mauka by the mooaina Kamanu aka puaa
Honolulu by lois of kalo koele
Makai by the fish pond Opu
Waianae by paaina.

.... chief, it was not his (Mahoe) land. The konohiki has always stirred for this place even before 1845 and he continues to oppose to the present time.

Honaenau, sworn, it is known this place is for Konia since the time of Kamehameha I. There is fish there for the konohiki only. Taro which the tenant has planted is for him at harvest time, but the grounds is the konohiki's since ancient times. The konohiki does not object to Mahoe's ten patches and a pasture, the dispute is over Opuo.

No other witnesses for him says Mahoe to the land commissioners.
