To the Commissioners who work on claims: I hereby state my claim.
At Moalii I have a lot which is my own, not for someone else.
Here is a claim for 7 lo`i and 6 mo`o. I myself fenced the lot with hired workers.
Here is a claim at Honokawai, for 18 lo`i.
At Waihee are some `ilis, and also an upland area for getting ti leaf plants and firewood. Panene is the name of that area.

Keaweluoli, sworn, I know the lands of the claimant. They consist of 7 lois and 6 moos of kula in one piece in "Moalii", Lahaina. and 15 lois in one piece in "Honokowai." One piece of kula and kalo land in "Waiehu." It is an ili called Panene.
He received this lands from Hoapili wahine in 1837 and he has held them in peace ever since.
The piece in Moalii is bounded:
Mauka by the King's poalima
Olowalu by "Alamihi"
Makai by the Alanui Aupuni
Kaanapali by the King's po ....

.... ed this place from his parents in 1823 during the lifetime of Liholiho and he had lived peacefully until 1846 or 1847. The Charles Walds received this place by lease from C. Kanaina. He did not agree to this lease in which is land was lost and he is hoping to get a portion of the lease (yearly), fees which C. Kanaina received or to have his place and adobe house that is ow standing returned which he built by spending his own money. That is what I know.
Moku, sworn, Kalaikini's testimony is true. Polea and his parents have lived at this place for a long time and he made a house and it is still standing. But he has no compensation for losing it through a lease by C. Kanaina and he now has nothing but because he entered his land with the Land Commissioners he hopes that his house site will be returned to him now. But I feel that he should charge for this because this has been his clear land from a long time ago.
