To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for land in the `ili of Ohia. It was from Kahuehu, who is dead, leaving his wahine, Puhipuhi. It was they who gave me this land, that is how I received it. From Kahuehu were 16 lo`i, also, from Kamai I received 5 lo`i. I received 10 lo`i from Kuheleloa. I received these claims at the time when Kaauwai was officiating on Maui.

Some lo`is were from my foster father, Punipaa. He died in 1847 and bequeathed his to his mo`opuna, my own daughter. There are a total of 16 lo`i, also ....
