To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for land in the `Ili of the Ahupua`a of Kahana, District 5, Koolauloa, Island of Oahi. There are six taro lo`i, seven weed-grown lo`i, four kula, one muliwai, one house site. One kula adjoins the `Ili of Pahoa One lo`i and one kula adjoin Loikee. That is my petition on this 10th day of January, 1848. It is a true right from the Konohiki.

.... knows the river claimed by Kuamoo. It comes from some springs about a mile from the sea, into which it empties near claimant's house.
(Claimant stated that Pule, a former konohiki, gave this river to him some 12 years ago. The land on both sides of it belongs chiefly to the konohiki.)
(The Commissioner, G.M. Roberston, was of opinion that this claim for a river could not be sustained).
Kapaakea, the konohiki, had no objections to make to this claim, escept to the river.
