Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto the John Smith his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Fifty Two Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Makawao, in the Island of Maui, and described as follows:

Commencing at West corner of this at stake joining McLane"s mauka boundary and Daniel Ii"s North corner, and running
South 50° 30" East 17 Chains 35 feet along Daniel Ii"s on public road to stake at South corner of this, thence
North 31° 30" East 11 Chains 52 8/12 feet along Church Land & Honolulu"s to stake, angle,  thence
