Land Patent No. S-8591 Issued In Confirmation of Land Commission Award

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles, did, by its decision, award by Land Commission Award No. 9971, Apana 28 to William Pitt Leleiohoku, also known as W.P. Leleiohoku, an estate of freehold Less than allodial in the land hereafter described, and

Whereas, application has been made to the Board of Land and Natural Resources by L. Gadcliff Greenwell, Robert f. Greenwell, James M. Greenwell and Harold S. Wright, as Trustees under Indenture of Trust dated 12/8/70 (aka Palani Land Trust II), claiming to be the present owner of said land for a Patent covering same, and

Whereas, the award was made by name only and a proper description was made by survey and certified by the Commissioner of Boundaries in Civil No. 6827 (3rd Cir.) as provided by law, which survey is on file with the Department of Land and Natural Resources, and

Whereas, Government commutation was released by Resolution of the Privy Council dated May 27, 1850.

Now, Therefore, the State of Hawaii, in conformity with the laws of the State of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that it has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto William Pitt Leleiohoku, all the land situate at Kaumalumalu in the District of North Kona, Island of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:

Land situated between Kuakini Highway and Mamalahoa Highway, Kaumalumalu, North Kona, Island of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, Parts 1 and 2, containing a total area of 112.316 acres, more or less, being more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and delineated on Exhibit "B" which are attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Reserving to the State of Hawaii, Its successors and assigns, all minerals and metallic mines of every description.

This Patent is subject to the rights of native tenants therein.

To Have and to Hold the above granted land unto the said William Pitt Leleiohoku and to the heirs and assigns of the said William Pitt Leleiohoku forever; subject, however, to the reservations and covenant herein set forth.

In Witness Whereof, The State of Hawaii, by its Board of Land and Natural Resources,  has caused the seal of the Department of Land and Natural Resources to be hereunto affixed and this Patent ....

Kuakini Highway and on the boundary between the lands of Holualoa 4th and Kaumalumalu, the coordinates of said point of beginning referred to Government Survey Triangulation Station "Kailua" being 14,487.03 feet South and 11,246.63 feet East and running by azimuths measured clockwise from True South:

Following a stonewall along Land Patent 8289,m Land Commission Award 7228 to Loe, along Sunset View Terrace Lots, Unit 1 for the first eight (8) courses, the direct azimuth and distance between points being:

1. 261° 39' 30" 34.66 feet.
2. 271° 47' 102.83 feet;
3. 278° 08' 88.58 feet;
4. 262° 14' 30" 33.02 feet;
5. 273° 38' 30" 48.54 feet;
6. 280° 04' 48.95 feet;
7. 269° 47' 30" 71.82 feet;
8. 273° 01' 30" 119.64 feet;
9. 5° 30' 94.58 feet along the westerly side of Kailua-Keauhou Middle Road;
10. Thence along the westerly side of Kailua-Keauhou Road on a curve to the left with a radius of 145.00 feet, the chord azimuth and distance being:
340° 15' 123.70 feet;
11. 315° 00' 90.76 feet along the westerly side of Kailua-Keauhou Middle Road;
12. Thence along the westerly side of Kailua-Keauhou Road on a curve to the right with a radius of 265.00 feet, the chord azimuth and distance being:

17. 79° 25' 302.33 feet along Grant 1857 to Paakea;
18. 154° 11' 1245.21 feet along the easterly side of Kuakini Highway to the point of beginning and containing an Area of 11.412 Acres.
