Land Patent No. 8200 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles did by Land Commission Award No. 7713, Apana 14 award to V.K. Kamamalu, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas proper application has been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by F.S. Dodge for and on behalf of the Trustees under the Will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, for a Patent of the herein described land, and whereas a certificate of boundaries defining the same has been duly filed, and the Government Commutation thereon was relinquished by Resolution of the Privy Council, dated August 27th, 1850, and surrender of lands recorded in Land Commission Award Volume 10, Page 619,
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto V.K. Kamamalu, all of the land situate at Kauaea, in the District of Puna, Island of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a + marked in the lava rock near the sea coast line, at the projecting cape called "Kulepe," the said point being distant about 50 feet from the old Government road, and bearing from the Hawaiian Government Survey [triangle with dot in it - Trig.] ....

.... 34; East 349 feet along Ililoa to a point 7 feet North "true" of a puhala tree, [triangle];
34. South 54° 46" East 525 feet along Ililoa to an iron pin at outside angle of stone wall a little above the Government road, from which point the Hawaiian Government Survey Trig. Station "Kaakepa" bears North 50° 21" East "true" distant 3299.4 feet;
35. South 59° 18" East 417 feet along Ililoa to middle of Inlet called "Hopee" also Keawakahiko at sea shore, thence following the line of the sea shore in all its windings at high water mark to the extreme point of the aforesaid promontory "Kulepe"; thence in a direct line to the point of beginning, which bears from the last station
36. North 52° 00" East 2393 feet;
Containing an area of 1568 acres more or less.
It is therefore adjudged, and I do hereby certify and decide that the boundaries of said land of Kauaea, are, and hereafter shall be as hereinbefore set forth, and that Certificate of Boundaries No. 88 is hereby cancelled and set aside.
Given under my hand at Hilo, Island of Hawaii the second day of December A.D. 1899.
