Land Patent No. 8199 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles did by Land Commission Award No. 7713, Apana 13 award to V.K. Kamamalu, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas said land was under description of "Apana 13" Patented by name only to said V.K. Kamamalu on April 3rd, 1861, under Royal Patent No. 4475 and whereas proper application has been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by F.S. Dodge for and on behalf of the Trustees under the Will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, for a Patent of the herein described land as actually surveyed, and a certificate of boundaries defining the same has been duly filed, and the Government Commutation thereon was relinquished by Resolution of the Privy Council, dated August 27th, 1850, and surrender of lands recorded in Land Commission Award Volume 10, Page 619,
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto V.K. Kamamalu, all of the land situate at Kaueleau, in the District of Puna, Island of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:
