Land Patent No. 8168 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles did by Land Commission Award No. 8305 Apana 2 award to Paulo Kanoa, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas proper application having been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by A.N. Van Valkenburg for and on behalf of the Oahu Railway and Land Company Limited, a corporation duly incorporated under the Laws of the Territory of Hawaii, the present owner of the Ili of Kahopona [Kaholona] in Manana Ewa Oahu for a Patent of the herein described land, and a certificate of Boundaries defining the same having been duly filed, and the Government Commutation thereon has been released as by resolution of the Privy Council dated August 28, 1850 in Book 3 Privy Council Records, on page 419,
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto Paulo Kanoa, all of the land situate at Manana, in the District of Ewa, Island of Oahu, bounded and described as follows:
2. Paka, Kula Land
Beginning at a former place of a stone in the sea called Pohakuakane situated 876 feet westward from the Southeast point of Manan ....
