Land Patent No. 8150 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet land titles did by Land Commission Award No. 153 award to William Sumner, an estate in fee in land situated in Honolulu, Island of Oahu, called Kahaohao and Kahololoa, by metes and bounds set out in said Award;
And whereas a portion of said premises described in said Award as the sea and reef part being of said Kahololoa consists of land covered or partly covered by water and includes Quarantine Island, and dispute has arisen as to the extent or nature of the title confirmed by this Award, in and to said sea and reef part of said premises;
And whereas it has been agreed between the United States of America and the Dowsett Company, Limited, and the Oahu Railway and Land Company, both corporations existing and doing business at said Honolulu under and by virtue of the laws of the Territory of Hawaii, as holders of the title of said William Sumner in said premises, that all questions in controversy respecting the title to said premises or any part of the same shall be forever settled and put at rest, by this conveyance upon the conditions below named, by said parties to the United States of America of the portion of said premises including Quarantine Island, lying Southerly or to the seaward of a division line drawn as follows:
