Land Patent No. 8144 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet land titles did by Land Commission Award No. 6400 award to Kapu, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,

And whereas proper application has been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by Bruce Cartwright, Trustee of the Estate of Emma Kaleleonalani, for a Patent of the herein described land, and whereas a certificate of boundaries defining the same having been duly filed and the Government Commutation thereon amounting to the sum of Six Hundred and Sixty-six & 66/100 ($666 66/100) having been duly paid,

Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Kapu, all of the land situate at Mahinui, in the District of Koolaupoko, Island of Oahu, bounded and described as follows:

No. 1. Kula Valley makai with Fish ponds and old Loi, Initial point the "Mahinui" Trig. Station of Government Survey Mark, a stone marked with an arrow in a trench on the promontory separating Mahinui land from Keaalau. Location Declaration [Declination] 9° 40' East Bearings: Makaha of big fis ....
