Land Patent No. 8140 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet land titles did by Land Commission Award No. 5230 award to Keaweamahi, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas proper application has been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by George H. Robertson Treasurer for the Haleakala Ranch Company, a corporation duly incorporated by the laws of the Territory of Hawaii for a Patent of the herein described land, and whereas a certificate of boundaries defining the same having been duly filed and the Government Commutation thereon amounting to Thirteen Hundred and Ninety 65/100 ($1390.65) Dollars having been duly paid.
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Keaweamahi, all of the land situate at Pulehu nui, in the District of Kula, Island of Maui, bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at a granite post at the South east corner of Wailuku and from which post the Government Survey Station Puuhele bears 52° 6' West true Puholo North 15° 43' East true and Puupane (South) South 77° 19' East true magnetic variation 8° 11' East and run[s]:
1. South 70° 19' East true 1090.5 feet along Kalialinui to North West corner of Omaopio; thence
2. Along up centre of the gulch to the lower corner of Royal Patent 4015 to Ali [4015 to Kaiwi in Omaopio and no R.P. but Omaopio award to Ali] said corner being in a clump of rocks on the North east edge of the gulch. Traverse up the gulch being as follows:
1. South 64° 57' East true 7227 feet

.... of the gulch along Waiakoa to a stone marked thus [right arrow] under a large pile of stones on the south edge of the Gulch.
Traverse down gulch being as follows
1. South 88° 34' West true 4682 feet;
2. South 43° 5' West true 792 feet;
3. North 89° 24' West true 16252 feet;
16. North 87° 3' West true 5825 feet along Waiakoa to a pile of a[sic] stones;
17. South 89° 11' West true 3412 feet along Waiakoa to a cross cut on a rock amongst a lot of rock on the sea beach at a place called Kalaepohaku. Thence
18. North 40° 1' West true 2011 feet along sea to a post near a house;
19. North 0° 24' East true 3538 feet along Waikapu to a stone marked thus [right arrow];
20. North 9° 52' West true 9383 feet along Waikapu;
21. North 11° 49' East true 4312 feet along Waikapu to a stone marked thus [right arrow] amongst a lot of stones;
22. North 49° 45' East true 5147 feet along Waikapu;
23. North 48° 51' East true 667 feet along Waikapu, Thence
24. South 68° 7' East true 16300 feet along Waikapu [BC reads Wailuku] to point of commencement.

To have and to hold the above granted land in Fee Simple, absolute unto the said Keaweamahi, and his [her] heirs and assigns forever.
In Witness whereof, The Governor of the Territory of Hawaii has hereto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the Territory to be hereunto affixed, this 8th day of July, A.D. 1902.
