Land Patent No. 8116 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet land titles did by Land Commission Award No. 11216 award to M. Kekauonohi, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas proper application having been made to the Minister of Interior by A.B. Loebenstein, Attorney for the Onomea Sugar Company, the present owner of the Ahupuaa of Onomea, in the District of Hilo, Island of Hawaii, for a Patent on the herein described land, and a Certificate of Boundaries defining the same having been duly filed and whereas the Government Commutation in said Ahupuaa of Onomea has been settled as by Resolution of the Privy Council August 27th 1850, and surrender of Land recorded in Land Commission Award Volume 10 page 619,
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the
United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Kekauonohi, all of the land situate at Onomea, in the District of Hilo, Island of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows: < ....

.... ld water head a little below unction of Kawainui and Kepiipiiwai Streams;
27. South 70° 54" East 6236 feet still along land of Kawainui and the North edge of stream of water to rock ledge over Waikahalulu falls;
28. North 37° 15" East 980 feet along North edge of stream to bend in stream;
29. South 86° 10" East 5200 feet the boundary following the North edge of the water in the stream to the Sea coast; thence around the sea coast in all it windings, the boundary being at high water mark of same, to the point of Commencement, which bears from the previous station
30. South 30° 28" West 4404 feet to said Initial Point, and containing an area of 2579 Acres more or less.
Containing 2579 Acres, more or less.
To have and to hold the above granted land in Fee Simple, absolute unto the said M. Kekauonohi, and her heirs and assigns forever.
In Witness whereof, The Governor of the Territory of Hawaii has hereto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the Territory to be hereunto affixed, this 18th day of May, A.D. 1901.
