Land Patent No. 8095 In Confirmation of Land Commission Award
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet land titles did by Land Commission Award No. 11216, Apana 40 award to M. Kekauonohi, an estate of Freehold less than Allodial in the land hereafter described,
And whereas proper application having been made to the Commissioner of Public Lands by Gulaten F. Ropert, Bishop of Pauopolis, the present owner of the Ahupuaa of Waiakahiula in the District of Puna, Island of Hawaii, for a Patent on the herein described land, and a Certificate of Boundaries defining the same having been duly filed and whereas the Government Commutation in said Ahupuaa of Waiakahiula has been settled by the surrender for Commutation as of record in Volume 9 page 662 of Land Commission Awards,
Therefore, the Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, in conformity with the Laws of the United States of America and of the Territory of Hawaii, by this Patent makes known to all men that he has this day granted and confirmed absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto M. Kekauonohi, all of the land situate at Waiakahiula, in the District of Puna, Island of Hawaii, bounded and described as follows:
Apana 1. Commence at a pahoehoe rock at the sea shore in a place called "Kauhaikuapuu," the boundary of this land and the Government land Kaohe, and run

North 32° East 19.08 chains along Keonipoko to Ohia X;
North 36° East 81.80 chains along Keonipoko to the pile of stones at "Kaloi,"
Containing an area of 1541 acres.
Containing 2972 Acres, more or less.
To have and to hold the above granted land in Fee Simple, absolute unto the said M. Kekauonohi, and his [her] heirs and assigns forever.
In Witness whereof, The Governor of the Territory of Hawaii has hereto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the Territory to be hereunto affixed, this 9th day of April, A.D. 1901.
