Royal Patent No. 8018 Upon Confirmation of Award by Land Commission.
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles, have by their decision awarded unto Kanaulu, Land Commission Award No. 6247, an Estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas
proper application having been made to the Minister of the Interior by A.B. Loebenstein, attorney for the Onomea Sugar Company, the present owner of the land of Puumoi, in the District of Hilo, Island of Hawaii for a Royal Patent of the herein described land, a Certificate of Boundaries defining the same having been duly filed, and the Government Commutation amounting to One Hundred ($100.) Dollars having been paid,
Therefore, Liliuokalani, by the Grace of God, Queen Sanford B. Dole, President of the Provisional Government of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent makes known to all men that she he has for herself himself and for her his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto Kanaulu, all that certain piece of the land situate at Puumoi Hilo in the Island of Hawaii, and described as follows:
Beginning at top of the Leinahapuna waterfall in the Kalaoa stream, the Kalaoa Church spire bearing South 2° 03' West true distant 1015 feet, the boundary runs as follows:

.... between Puumoi and Grant 2229 to Kalua, Mokuoniki, to top of a mound in said gully; thence
North 84° 43' East true 915 feet the middle of the Mokuoniki gully the boundary;
North 40° 10' East true 292 feet the middle of the Mokuoniki gully the boundary to the junction of the same with the Alakahi stream known from here on to the sea as the Hanawi;
South 77° 40' East true 367 feet the middle of the Hanawi stream the boundary;
North 33° 50' East true 445 feet the middle of the Hanawi stream the boundary;
South 70° 23' East true 485 feet the middle of the Hanawi stream the boundary to point of rocks at foot of bluff and mouth of stream called Kalaeekeiki; thence
South 26° 52' East true 276 feet around the bluff, the boundary being along the sea coast at high water mark to the mouth of the Kalaoa stream; thence
South 67° 00' West true 952 feet along the middle of the Kalaoa stream to the Initial point
Containing an area of 847.3 acres
Containing 847.3 Acres, more or less excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government all mineral or metallic mines of every description.
To Have and to Hold the above granted land in Fee Simple to Kanaulu Heirs and Assigns forever, subject to the taxes to be from time to time imposed by the Legislative Council, equally upon all landed Property held in Fee Simple.
In Witness whereof, I have hereunder set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the Hawaiian Islands to be affixed, this 18th day of May, A.D. 1893.
