Royal Patent Upon Upon Confirmation of the Land Commission
Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto W.P. Leleiohoku, Land Commission Award 9971, Apana 25, an Estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the Land hereafter described; and whereas proper application having been made to the Minister of the Interior for a Royal Patent on the within described land, and the Government Commutation thereon having been relinquished by an order of the Privy Council during the reign of Kamehameha III,
Therefore, Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that he has, for himself and for his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely in Fee Simple, unto W.P. Leleiohoku all that certain piece of land situate at Koolauloa known as the Ahupuaa of Punaluu in the Island of Oahu, and described as follows:
Beginning at the East angle of this land at a rock marked X at its junction with Kahana at the Government Road at the sea shore from which the west angle of Kahana bridge bears South 21° 38' East (true) distance 3820.4 feet ....

South 46° 25' East 620 feet along the sea shore;
South 62° East 1270 feet along the sea shore;
South 66° 35' East 1150 feet along the sea shore;
South 43° 45' East 440 feet along the sea shore;
South 38° 10' East 530 feet along the sea shore;
South 20° 50' East 260 feet along the sea shore;
South 0° 25' East 1248 feet along the sea shore;
South 4° 20' West 1430 feet along the sea shore;
South 3° 10' East 190 feet along the sea shore to the initial point,
Containing an area of 4215 Acres, more or less; excepting and reserving to the Hawaiian Government all mineral or metallic mines of every description.
To Have and to Hold the above granted Land in Fee Simple unto the said W.P. Leleiohoku Heirs and Assigns forever, subject to the taxes to be from time to time imposed by the Legislative Council, equally upon all landed Property held in Fee Simple.
In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the Great Seal of the Hawaiian Islands to be affixed, this 23rd day of April 1886.
