Royal Patent Upon Confirmation by the Land Commission

Whereas, the Board of Commissioners to quiet Land Titles have by their decision awarded unto W.C. Lunalilo, L.C. Award 8559B, Apana 4.

An estate of Freehold less than Allodial, in and to the land hereafter described, and whereas proper application having been made to the Minister of Interior by H.B. Jackson, the present owner, for a Royal Patent on the within described land, a certificate defining the boundaries of the same having been filed and the Government commutation thereon being relinquished by Order of the Privy Council.

Therefore, Kalakaua, by the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known to all men, that he has, for himself and for his successors in office, this day granted and given absolutely, in Fee Simple, unto William C. Lunalilo all that certain piece of land situate at North Kohala, known as the Kehena 2nd, in the Island of Hawaii, and described as follows:

Beginning at a rock marked X by a brackish spring of water (or waterhole) Maue [?] on the North side of the cave called Keauanui; thence along Kehena 1st
North 43° East 248 chains to a pile of rocks; Thence
